Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing
Many of our pieces are remade from a single garment, so each listing shows its own measurements. Lay a piece you already love flat, measure it, and compare. If you are between sizes or unsure, message us on WhatsApp with your usual size and we will advise.
Is each piece unique?
Pieces marked "One of one" exist only once, and once sold they are gone. Small-run pieces share a cut, but fabrics, prints and patchwork placement vary because every source garment is different.
What is mitumba?
Mitumba is the Kiswahili word for second-hand clothing, which arrives in Kenya in large bales. We select garments with good fabric and remake them into new designs, combining them with kitenge and kanga.
Caring for your piece
Wash cool and inside out, by hand or on a gentle cycle, and dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying and bleach. Tailored pieces such as blazers are best dry cleaned. See our care guide for more.
